8:15 PM - Goodbye, Dottie

My dog Dottie got put down tonight.

She was a good dog and a great friend, always vigilant in her duties as our watchdog. She trusted no unfamiliar face. I didn't realize how much I appreciated that until now. It will be so strange to be at the house without her.

But I've been laughing all day at the great memories I have with her and my family. She will be sorely missed, always loved and never forgotten.

Goodbye, my friend.

Now I miss my dog. Did you ever meet Zack? He died three years ago.

He was a ridiculous mountain.

I miss those big eyes.

That sounds like him. How big, though? Frodo is like him, only with shorter hair and 40 fewer pounds.
Do you remember a 75 lbs dog who looked like 60 lbs or a 115 lbs dog who looked like a bear?
